Dubai has maintained its regional leadership in the “Global Power City Index 2024”, issued by the Mori Memorial Foundation’s Institute for Urban Strategies in Japan, securing the 8th position globally. This achievement marks Dubai as the first city in the Middle East to enter the global top 10 list.

According to the report, Dubai has successfully retained its position among the world’s top 10 cities for the second consecutive year, reflecting its economic stability, ability to adapt to global challenges, and its commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, emphasized that “The strength of cities is not measured by their size or population, but by their vision, ambition, and their ability to present an inspiring model to the world.” He added: “In Dubai, we are strong, resilient, innovative, and builders of hope and the future.”
The Index: Six Key Criteria for Evaluating City Power
The Global Power City Index evaluates major cities based on six key factors that determine their attractiveness and ability to draw global capital and talent:

- 1st Place: London (1,655.4 points) – excelling in cultural interaction and accessibility.
- 2nd Place: New York (1,505.8 points) – leading in economy and research and development.

- 5th Place: Singapore
- 6th Place: Seoul
- 7th Place: Amsterdam (1,185.4 points)
