Major General Talal Al-Shanqeeti, Assistant Director General of the Air Ports Affairs Sector at Dubai Residency and Foreigners Affairs, revealed that the number of users of the Smart Corridor, introduced by Dubai International Airport, has reached 330,000 travelers to date.

Al-Shanqeeti noted that the project saw a significant increase in usage, with a 32% rise in the first half of this year compared to the first half of 2023.

He mentioned that the Smart Corridor is one of the projects launched by the Future Ports Management to provide a seamless travel experience for first-class and business travelers at Terminal 3.

He explained that the project uses biometric fingerprint technology, allowing travelers to pass through the passport area quickly and easily without the need for any documents. The exit process is completed in less than five seconds.

Regarding how passports and documents requiring verification or other restrictions are handled, Major General Al-Shanqeeti explained that the Smart Corridor relies on a pre-screening system for travelers’ data. If there are any restrictions or other reasons, the traveler is referred to the Smart Corridor monitoring platform for handling and completing the necessary procedures.
