DP World Group plans to inject $2.5 billion (AED 9.2 billion) in investments during 2025 to expand its global logistics network through the launch of infrastructure projects across India, Africa, South America, and Europe, in response to growing demand for supply chain solutions.
These four major projects span four continents and aim to strengthen DP World’s comprehensive capabilities and significantly increase the capacity of its global port network—reinforcing the company’s pivotal role in enabling global trade flows.
As part of this expansion, construction has begun on a new $510 million container terminal in Tuna Tekra, located in Gujarat on India’s northwestern coast. The terminal will feature a 1.1-kilometer quay and an annual handling capacity of 2.19 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). It will connect India’s vast hinterlands to global markets via an integrated network of roads and railways, improving Indian companies’ access to international trade routes.
DP World is also continuing development of a new deep-sea port in Banana, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Situated on the Atlantic coast, the port will have an annual capacity of 450,000 TEUs. It is expected to significantly reduce time and costs for national trade by attracting more large vessels directly from Asia and Europe.
On Africa’s west coast, construction is ongoing at the new Ndayane Port in Senegal, which will have a capacity of 1.2 million TEUs. The project is receiving an initial investment of $830 million and is expected to support the country’s development throughout the 21st century.
In Posorja Port, Ecuador, DP World has launched a $140 million project to extend the quay to a total length of 700 meters, allowing the port to handle two Post-Panamax vessels simultaneously.
Finally, DP World is investing $1 billion in the London Gateway logistics hub to construct two new berths and a second rail terminal. This expansion is expected to create 400 jobs and enhance the UK’s position as a global trade gateway. By the end of this decade, the port is projected to become the largest container terminal in the country.
