Dubai continues to solidify its position as a top global travel destination, welcoming 8.68 million international visitors between January and May 2025 — a 7% increase from the same period in 2024, according to the latest Tourism Performance Report by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
In May alone, Dubai hosted 1.53 million international tourists, underscoring the emirate’s year-round appeal. Western Europe remained the leading source market, contributing 22% of total arrivals (approximately 1.92 million visitors), followed by strong numbers from Russia, the CIS, South Asia, and the GCC region.
Dubai’s hospitality sector also recorded notable growth. The number of hotel establishments rose slightly to 825, offering over 153,000 rooms. Hotel occupancy hit an impressive 83%, with 19.09 million room nights booked — a 4% increase from 2024. The average daily room rate climbed to AED620, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose by 7% to AED513.
This continued momentum in visitor numbers and hospitality performance highlights Dubai’s resilience, strategic planning, and its ongoing efforts to offer diverse, high-quality experiences to international travelers.
